Tracy B. Strehlow
Senior Project Coordinator
When organization, accuracy and efficiency are your strong suits, those skills will shine through in all aspects of life. From shuttling the kids to sporting events and researching the best colleges to ensuring contractors have submitted the proper construction paperwork and closeout documents, it’s all a test of skill.
Sure, parenting is a bit different from project coordination, but Tracy Strehlow is fluent in both.
For more than 20 years she has hit deadlines and ensured successful projects at Somerville. The paperwork on the construction side can be fast and furious, and Tracy ensures it’s on track from a project’s beginning to end.
It’s largely by chance that she arrived at Somerville. A native of Green Bay, she left the area after college only to return to raise her family. Somerville’s respect for employees’ home lives made the flexible work environment and family-like atmosphere an easy choice. An active son and daughter mean attending sporting events are front and center of her free time, which has honed her efficiency and time management as only parenting can do.
Her work is deadline driven and critical to keeping a project on track. Working on technical colleges, state projects and other sectors, Tracy juggles anywhere from 15-20 projects at a time, transitioning from preparing documents for pre-construction meetings to wrapping up the final paperwork that completes a project. Each day involves multiple assignments in all different phases of development, and Tracy takes pride in the accuracy and efficiency of her role on the team.
Then she heads home to put those skills back to work with her home “team.”
