Adam Drefcinski
Vice President of Operations
Much has changed in Adam’s time with Somerville, but a key aspect of what he appreciates most about the work has not: The talented team of hard-working individuals who embrace the opportunity to learn and grow, and who assist each other personally and professionally.
Those qualities are the same that motivate him every day in his role in providing quality control, mentorship, support, and client advocacy at Somerville.
Adam has always loved sketching and building, and he recognized early on that his skills married well with architecture – particularly with a firm where relationships are so critical to success. He worked in the field after high school, gaining knowledge of the construction industry and hands-on experience, before obtaining his architecture degree. He then worked his way up from the plot room to an architectural designer, and then as a project manager. He credits that growth and development to early mentors who gave him guidance, absorbing everything he could. To this day he draws upon those years of knowledge gained from those before him, while now doing his best to serve in that same role for newcomers.
Adam says he has dedicated himself to the work in part because he takes such pride in being part of a company with a legacy of high-caliber quality and service that clients expect and deserve.
Adam’s creative pursuits don’t end with the workday. He’s an avid woodworker, creating and donating his work to fundraisers and other community initiatives. He enjoys the outdoors and time with family and friends, walking the dog, sketching, and running.
