It was Chloe’s mom who nudged her toward engineering, but the path to this work has truly been a family affair. As a kid, Chloe spent time on construction sites with her grandfather, who owns a construction business, watching homes go from basement shells to finished projects. She spent other days helping her dad, an electrician, with electrical projects on work sites through the business he owns.

This work was practically destiny.

Chloe grew up in Freedom, Wisconsin and briefly considered becoming a lawyer, but math was always her strong suit. And having grown up learning the electrical side of things, she thrived in electrical engineering.

She’s been on the other side of the work she now leads, which involves implementing designs into floor plans and ensuring all disciplines intersect effectively and seamlessly. She’s now designing what the electricians and construction teams are building. Chloe’s attention to detail is critical in a frequently evolving process.

But it’s the people side of things that bring out Chloe’s greatest strengths. She’s a people-person who enjoys building relationships and getting to know the community. Any stereotype of the introverted engineer is not a fit here; Chloe is warmly open, happy to answer any questions or talk through any project.

It’s one of the reasons she chose Somerville, where relationships inside the company and out in the community are a priority. The Somerville team has a welcoming and personable environment, open to questions and ideas. It has the small-business family feel Chloe is familiar with, mixed with opportunities for collaboration and learning on meaningful, large-scale work.

Outside of work, she’s an active person, a runner and volleyball player who loves the outdoors and spending time with friends and family pets. And, of course, reveling in that family energy that helped bring her to where she is today.
