Dylan Ihler
Architectural Drafter
Growing up, Dylan Ihler spent his weekends and summers helping his grandfather build houses for everyone from local doctors to Green Bay Packer coaches.
His grandfather knew firsthand that although residential construction was good work, it took its toll on the body. So rather than pass on the family business, he encouraged Dylan to explore his options in school. Dylan always excelled at computer work and spent his free time playing house-building games, meshed his interests with his talents and pursued a career in architectural technology.
Drawn to Somerville’s commitment to adopting new technologies and the opportunity to continue working on the latest industry software, Dylan joined the team as an architectural drafter. He assists the architects with the design and plans for projects, transforming their sketches into construction documents.
Growing up in construction, Dylan brings a firsthand, foundational knowledge of how buildings actually come together. He appreciates how the Somerville team stays current on technologies, which not only makes the process smoother but allows them to detect issues earlier, saving clients money in the end. He enjoys the process, bringing an intentional thoroughness to the work along with an attention to detail. Somerville’s design work gives him an opportunity to create spaces that people enjoy being in.
Dylan grew up outside Pulaski, working throughout the Green Bay area. He is married, with a young family, and lives in Howard, where he spends his time outdoors, hunting and fishing, and with his family and friends in the area.
