Luke Jauquet
Electrical Drafter
As a bit of a perfectionist who thinks in black and white – but also a creative at heart who thrives on expression, Luke Jauquet considers his path to Somerville quite a gift.
Luke, who pursued electrical engineering based on his love of math and physics in high school, found his niche early with Somerville when he joined the team as an intern in 2024. Two summers and two winters spent on school breaks working on the electrical team built the skills and seeded the desire to follow a path that fed both his imaginative and meticulous tendencies.
It was the site visits and assessments that truly sparked his passion. Those were the opportunities to experience the high standards involved in detail-oriented work, and they highlighted the impact of careful and thoughtful approaches to design on a project.
It may seem an anomaly to strive for one right answer in architecture and design, but Luke sees it as a fit for the Design Matters approach of Somerville. There is a right answer to making a welcoming and functional space, and it involves the calculated rigor and creative considerations that he enjoys blending. Somerville allows him to feed his imaginative side while capturing that precise right answer.
The experience cemented his path, and when the opportunity came to join the organization that he values for melding the creative and straightforward, he grabbed it.
A health junkie, Luke is always active, lifting weights, boxing, playing pickleball and more, and he loves to cook. When he graduated college, he returned to his hometown of De Pere to continue with his Somerville family.
