Markie Bernardy
Environmental Graphic Designer
Markie Bernardy has had an eye for art and graphic design long before she learned about the concept’s growing importance in the industry.
With experience in graphics, print design and an appreciation for art history, Markie is adept at using design elements to convey layers of information. As Environmental Graphic Design (EGD) has emerged as a critical concept in commercial building design, Markie has directed her affinity for storytelling to transforming spaces into stories of their own.
Markie enjoys uncovering a client’s story by learning the history of an organization and getting to know its people. She draws out hidden details and uses them to bring more personality and creativity into a space, while always conveying the depth of a client’s strengths, uniqueness, and heart. Her graphic design work creates environments that are inviting to all, featuring clear wayfinding paired with style and flair, while enhancing the user experience.
Markie thrives in taking something unique and personal to each client and sharing that story with others. It’s part of a creative journey that led her to Somerville, where she appreciates the attention the team gives to environmental graphic design in the early stages of a project.
Born and raised in Ashwaubenon, Markie enjoys spending her free time with family and friends. She loves to travel around the country and attend concerts. With an active young son, you can find her most weekends at the hockey rink cheering from the stands as a proud hockey mom.
