As an Electrical Engineer at Somerville, you will be responsible for designing power distribution, lighting, and building communication systems for educational, health care, and/or commercial buildings. You will also be expected to:
- Conduct calculations for lighting and power systems and energy consumption of electrical systems
- Conduct assessments of existing systems and provide recommendations for refurbishment or replacement
- Research and specify products, equipment, and systems to meet client expectations
- Provide estimates of probable construction costs for electrical designs
- Verify proper construction of design elements on construction sites
We seek an individual with a collaborative spirit, capable of working seamlessly with other top talented designers and drafters to contribute to the advancement of our projects. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver who demonstrates strong critical-thinking abilities, has great attention to detail, and demonstrates exceptional communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
If this sounds like you, and you are a registered electrical engineer or designer with five or more years of experience in an electrical engineering capacity, as well as experience in REVIT, BIM, and Microsoft Office, we want to talk to you!
