Electrical Designer or Engineer

About the Position

We seek an individual with a collaborative spirit who can seamlessly work together with other top-talented architects, engineers, designers, and drafters to advance our projects. Your role will involve

    • Collaborating with other engineers, while mentoring designers and drafters
    • Performing building system assessments, documenting existing conditions, and writing reports that provide recommendations for refurbishment or replacement
    • Writing scope of work documents for electrical designs
    • Clearly and effectively presenting complex electrical engineering concerns and solutions to the owner and design team
    • Conducting calculations for lighting, power systems, electrical loads, distribution calculations, equipment sizing, power, etc.
    • Utilizing BIM software and visualization methods to design lighting, power, data, and low voltage system requirements and providing layouts
    • Incorporating best practices and sustainability strategies into designs
    • Ensuring projects meet client expectations and code requirements
    • Providing estimates of probable construction costs for electrical designs
    • Coordinating with consultants and contractors
    • Research new/emerging products, equipment, and systems
    • Compiling system specifications, details, and schedules
    • Performing field observation and ensuring adherence to electrical design intent

Qualifications

  • Experience
    • Four or more years of electrical design experience for buildings in the healthcare, education, community, or commercial markets
    • A strong portfolio of work
  • Technical Knowledge
    • Experience with Revit, BIM software, and Bluebeam preferred
  • Education & Licenses
    • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Designer of Engineering Systems (DES) credential or Professional Engineer (PE) license
    • LEED accreditation preferred

    • Strong attention to detail with critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
    • Creative approach to developing solutions for building system challenges
