Adams-Friendship Area School District Fine Arts Center
ADAMS-FRIENDSHIP AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT
Somerville‘s original design for the Adams-Friendship High School included a master plan for a fine arts auditorium addition. The community rallied together and through fundraising, private donations, and a successful referendum, the fine art center became a reality.
The Adams-Friendship Fine Arts Center includes a 560-seat auditorium, 46-foot wide and 20-foot high proscenium, with a backstage prop and set room and greenroom. The auditorium includes a state-of-the-art sound and light system with a dedicated control room, follow-spot balcony and lighting catwalk. The addition also included a beautiful pre-function space, creating a gateway from the existing High School to the new addition. An art gallery is located near the separate community entrance to the Fine Arts Center, incorporating the visual along with the performing arts.
