Jaclyn Spice has been surrounded by a large “family” her whole life – both biological and chosen.

So, although Somerville was a smaller firm than her previous employer, the opportunity to work more closely with the team around her – in a genuine and supportive way – was too good to pass up.

Being a part of Somerville’s team means Jaclyn can have real relationships with her coworkers, an aspect of the culture that makes work more fun, makes the days run smoothly and makes her better at her job.

Jaclyn has decades of experience in office administration and excels at her work managing human resources, benefits, payroll and the firm’s employment needs. She’s skilled and experienced in the tasks, but it’s the interactions with the team where she truly shines. She enjoys engaging with people in ways that make their work easier and everyone’s day a little more pleasant.

Jaclyn values continuous improvement and thrives in a workplace that allows her the ability to share her ideas for improving business practices and encouraging development and growth.

She has a 360-degree view of the business and appreciates the skills each Somerville team member brings to the work. Being surrounded by people of different perspectives, skills and approaches is natural for Jaclyn, one of 21 siblings in her family. Jaclyn’s parents had eight children and began taking in foster children when Jaclyn was in high school. Her adopted siblings now range in age from toddlers to mid-30’s, and she’s never far from a brother or sister these days.

Jaclyn has been married for 18 years and has a daughter and a son. She loves to go for walks, read books and spend time with her friends and “family”.
