Johnathan is not one to take it easy. That’s not to say he’s not easygoing. This Eagle Scout just likes to keep his plate full.

He already holds associate degrees in architectural technologies, as well as civil engineering and surveying, and he’s expanding his education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business. His work history is a robust resume of time spent in the field and in drawing and design, and now he’s diving into electrical drafting work, providing design and layout for existing and new projects at Somerville.

And that’s just his professional life.

Ever since childhood, spent working alongside his master electrician dad on residential projects, Johnathan has been expanding his portfolio. He spent nearly eight years in the field working on structural and architectural design before joining the Somerville team. Although he didn’t plan to land in the electrical field, he appreciates the new challenge this role brings and knows he has the background to tackle it. He enjoys applying his understanding of electrical systems to commercial work, determining the usability of each component in the design to best configure its layout, learning new codes, and using a fresh perspective on each project to best serve the clients and their needs.

The versatility of his experience means he’s eager to try new things – to continue to learn and grow. Johnathan appreciates Somerville’s welcoming environment and informative interactions with teams across all departments.

An Eagle Scout turned Army reservist, Johnathan spends much of his free time on home renovations and on a multitude of outdoor hobbies, from hunting and fishing to dirt biking and snowmobiling. And don’t forget time with friends and family: Johnathan is very close to his dad and still works almost weekly with him on projects.
