Marinette Clinic

As part of Bellin Health’s expansion of their northern region services, they needed to develop a Bellin hub facility for the area and expand services with a new multi-disciplinary outpatient medical center. This clinic was phase one of a two-phase project with the planned addition of an ambulatory surgery center the following year. Somerville assisted in determining the final site, which is located at the south end of an existing retail center at the edge of the City of Marinette. The siting and orientation of the building allows it to serve as a southern anchor to the adjacent development. In addition, the new two-story facility serves as a landmark along a major thoroughfare.

This project continues our client’s branding in the northern region, aesthetically tying into other facilities in northeast Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Buff-colored brick, natural stone, copper panels and wood laminated structural elements are all part of Bellin’s northern region aesthetic.  Many of the locally-sourced materials selected for the building pay homage to local manufacturers.

This is truly a full-service outpatient facility with 40 providers and over 100 exam rooms. Services include cardiology, physical therapy, women’s health, pediatrics, primary care, and various specialty clinics.   Oncology services include radiation oncology and medical oncology with the accompanying linear accelerator vault and infusion spaces. Diagnostic capabilities within the building include CT, x-ray, mammography, and ultrasound. A mobile MRI location and access is located at the south end of the building.

The design of the building focuses around a linear two-story, north-facing atrium space, allowing for ample, indirect natural light and for common waiting areas occupying both levels. Flexible exam pods are situated adjacent to this common space allowing for easy patient access and way-finding.
