For someone who loves the outdoors so much, Neil Yunk sure spends a lot of time working to improve people’s indoor experiences.
The drawing and sketching of Neil’s youth gave way to a career in architecture, and that upbringing in Wisconsin’s great outdoors – snowmobiling, hunting and fishing, golfing, cycling and plenty of other recreation — has fed his desire to give people a similar satisfaction with their indoor environments.
What gets him going when he gets up in the morning? Knowing the job isn’t just about the building, it’s about the people. About making someone’s life easier, better, more enjoyable — which he considers the true result of good design.
Beginning his career in architecture as an intern architect with Somerville, Neil has risen through the ranks in the region of Wisconsin he has always called home.
From the suites at Lambeau Field to the aisles of a Festival Foods grocery store, the diversity of projects in the Somerville portfolio satisfies Neil’s skill set and his desire to explore all facets of the work, from the design of a project and the relationship with the client to the business side of bringing the plan to fruition.
His work with clients capitalizes on his best characteristics: his dependability and his appreciation of and respect for others. Neil believes in the trust between client and service provider, and his commitment to respecting the client and building that trust comes through in each interaction.
That’s a Wisconsin boy for you.
