Northeast Wisconsin Technical College
NWTC recognized the idea that student life and learning are not separate activities and knew that they needed to enhance student engagement to improve learning. Learning often occurs when multiple students meet, study and share their ideas about classes, projects, and homework outside of the traditional classroom. The design of the Student Success Center promotes collaboration between many different students who are pursuing various degrees, improving their success by joining multiple disciplines and ideas together.

Facility Highlights
- Modern learning environment

- Offices and workstations for student services staff
- Student lounge with a fireplace and social area, outdoor commons, and movie lounge

- Multi-care reception area based on the “concierge model” with kiosks
- Space included advisors, admissions, registration, financial aid, assessment, tutoring, career services, special needs, and recruitment center
- Call center, career services, student services offices, and office for advancement
- Large conference rooms and small gathering rooms for students
- Extensive use of glass, creating engaging, welcoming and collaborative spaces
- Curvilinear design elements such as soffits, ceilings, walls and floor coverings tie all of the student service spaces together and creates a flow, helping guide the occupants through the spaces
- New internal circulation stair was added for a direct conduit to all services offered the by the college
