Senior Architectural Drafter
Tammy Deterville puts her skills to work at the drafting desk – when she’s not putting them to work at home. Tammy drew up the plans to build her new house in Bellevue, mapping out exactly what she’s looking for in a forever home. With her brother as the builder, her plans are on their way to becoming reality, just as her work at Somerville moves team projects forward.
As an architectural drafter, Tammy uses her skills to transform the architects’ ideas into drawing sets for construction.
Prior to joining Somerville Tammy’s experience was in architectural millwork drafting – drawing interior details including wall paneling, trim and crown moldings. The switch to complete building construction drawings offers new opportunities to flex her drafting muscles.
Tammy discovered an interest in art in high school but found herself drawn to the art of drafting. She fell in love with it and went to school for architectural design. For Tammy, creating the drawings and figuring how it all goes together retains the art in building.
Somerville is a great fit for Tammy’s move into architectural design – a step up, a chance to work with a highly creative, and an opportunity to learn, and grow her skill set.
A hometown girl, Tammy has lived in the area all her life, from Denmark to the town of Eaton, De Pere and now Bellevue.
She has plenty to do outside of work, with her husband, Dave, and their adult children, many of whom also live in the area. Tammy spends her time reading, walking and kayaking at their cabin in Pembine, and creating projects through quilting, cross-stitching and crocheting. That is, when she’s not creating her next dream home.
