The New London Intermediate/Middle School renovation elevates the educational experience for students and staff.
Our team reimagined the school’s layout by relocating classrooms to the perimeter of the building, harnessing natural light and promoting collaboration between the other classrooms. A dedicated special education suite, designed for ADA compliance, was introduced, offering an inclusive and supportive space complete with an accessible restroom. Simultaneously, science classrooms underwent a comprehensive remodel, incorporating new flooring, finishes, casework, and shared storage areas to enhance both the function and aesthetics.
Innovative learning pods for 7th and 8th grades were created, integrating collaboration spaces and glass-walled breakout spaces that dot the corridors for increased visibility. Multiple entry/exit points were added to bolster safety and security throughout the school. The renovation effort continued in the tech ed spaces, creating a modern STEM environment for the computer and robotics programs.
The renovation extended beyond academic spaces, encompassing a complete overhaul of the kitchen and serving line, ensuring it adhered to current code, and new finishes in the commons. Addressing critical infrastructure, the project undertook substantial upgrades to the HVAC system, electrical service, and plumbing, and improved security and visibility in the front office.
As a result of these enhancements, the New London Intermediate/Middle School has been transformed into a dynamic, safe, and technologically advanced hub for learning that will continue to enrich the academic journey for both students and staff.
