MPTC Welcome Center

Somerville Inc. was challenged with creating a ‘front door’ and new student services center for MPTC’s Beaver Dam campus. The final design not only created the desired entrance, but it began the process to brand the Moraine Park Technical College campus buildings. When construction was complete, the campus not only had a ‘front door’, reception area, and student services center, the College had completed its first LEED Silver designed project, on schedule and within budget.

The design of the reception and student services area focused on creating a welcoming one-stop shop for college students. The office area is designed to accommodate the influx of student questions at the start of each semester, along with all student services staff in close proximity. The reception area includes an uplifting and engaging space with student touch-down furniture, and creates a link between the existing and new spaces, improving circulation on campus.
