New Visitor Center
Discover Green Bay
The Discover Green Bay Visitor Center is the new gateway to the Greater Green Bay area. This facility offers a modern and inviting space for visitors and locals to learn about the places to explore and enjoy throughout the region. Whether you’re popping in for a visit or considering a move to the area, this building is going to help entice you to stay longer and plan your return. Here, the visitor experience is the start of a relationship.
The two-story visitor center atrium showcases the natural beauty and history of the area. The open ceiling and layering of natural materials offer an inviting, modern, and clean aesthetic while highlighting materials our region is famous for. Its westernmost position on the property is intentionally bold and eye catching. People are drawn to the visual impact of this gateway to the community, with its bright colors, dramatic angles, and inviting entry points. Expansive glass panels invite natural light to pour into the building. The “Welcome to Green Bay” exterior signage makes for a great selfie backdrop while fellow visitors play beanbag toss or checkers on an outdoor patio. A rooftop deck overlooks an additional greenspace that features donor bricks, a drinking fountain for people and their pets, benches and an EV charging station.
One of the highlights of the facility is the 1,300 SF multi-purpose atrium space that has the ability to open onto the exterior patio, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. The multi-purpose space can host concerts, festivals, receptions, ceremonies, and more. There is a training/education room that can double as an event space, with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment and a catering kitchen. There are also several conference rooms throughout the building that can be reserved for meetings, workshops, or presentations. The facility also has indoor vehicle storage for Discover Green Bay’s fleet.
In the staff areas glass front offices reflect the culture of tourism – welcoming, open, and friendly – while maintaining needed privacy for focused work. An open and flexible multipurpose space provides opportunities for a variety of social and educational uses and features sliding glass doors to the main atrium that allow them to be open and connect both spaces without getting in the way. Upstairs a lively conference room overlooks the main atrium and offers a stunning view of Lambeau Field. The open approach sets an inviting tone, creating flexibility and harmony within the workspaces that reflects the work itself: No day is the same, and the staff need a fluid and functional building to meet evolving needs.
With a fun, laid-back vibe that mirrors the community it promotes, this facility instantly creates a sense of place that is vibrant and alive, while anchored in tradition and history. The Discover Green Bay Visitor Center is more than just a place to get information. The building is functional, efficient, sustainable and designed to be a physical tool for the community.
