New Elementary School

Divine Savior Academy

In the greater Austin, Texas area sits one of the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities, Santa Rita Ranch, and in that community, Divine Savior Academy found a new home. Divine Savior Academy (DSA) is one of the largest private school systems in the United States and offers its students top-rated teachers and the best of academics all in a supportive Christian environment. DSA began working with Somerville in the early 2000s on their first campus in Doral, Florida. Since that time, DSA and Somerville have designed numerous schools together, bringing educational excellence across the United States.Divine Savior Academy’s newest school in Liberty Hill, Texas sits on a beautiful 13-acre site. The 25,000 SF building serves preschoolers and elementary school students through the fifth grade. The school was designed with expansion in mind, and after only one year of operation, DSA was ready to add an additional classroom wing to the building.
The central part of the building houses a large multi-purpose space that serves as the schools worship space, program and event space, as well as cafeteria. This multi-purpose space incorporates a raised stage area that supports these various functions. A large serving kitchen and storage sit on either side of the multi-purpose space. Private offices, conference rooms, a narthex and restrooms complete the central portion of the building.
The classroom wing of the school houses pre-K through 5th grade classrooms as well as a Design & Creativity Lab. Each pair of early childhood classrooms shares a common storage room and toilet rooms equipped with child height toilet fixtures.
The 13-acre site also has a unique natural playground that promotes a connection to the natural landscape around the building, as well as parking for staff and visitors and a future recreational field.
